Originally issued to the West German Bundeswehr during the Cold War, this classic altes Modell (old model) was designed to secure heavy modular unit tents and command shelters. Robust Wood & Steel Construction
Each peg is made with a solid ash wood core, chosen for its natural impact resistance and elasticity under ground stress. To prevent splitting, the head is banded with a pinned steel collar that absorbs mallet blows. The point features a conical steel cap that drives through rocky, hard-packed clay without blunting, maintaining its integrity over years of rugged use.

This item was used by the German Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
