This unissued East German Strichtarn backpack is an original Cold War combat pack from the NVA.
Original Cold War Issue
Issued to the East German National People's Army (NVA) from 1965 to 1990, this combat pack is officially known as the Sturmgepäck. Built for Warsaw Pact frontline troops, this unissued Supergrade surplus offers authentic Cold War military heritage in clean, unissued condition.
Heavy Cotton Strichtarn Canvas
Made from tough cotton canvas in the distinctive Strichtarn 'rain-drop' camouflage pattern, the fabric is backed with an internal water-resistant coating. It protects contents from damp weather and abrasion during rough outdoor use in the woods or on the trail.
Modular 15-Litre Storage & Attachment
The spacious 15-litre main compartment secures with a storm flap, twin metal buckles, and durable leather-tipped pull straps. Exterior steel D-rings and lashing loops allow you to easily strap on a bedroll, shelter half, or clip the pack directly to standard Y-straps and webbing rigs.

This item was issued to the German Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and remains in Supergrade condition. It is unissued original surplus, but may have minor dust or storage marks from warehouse storage. We recommend giving it a wash or airing it out before wearing.
