This is an original US 38th Infantry patch, issued to US Army personnel in the Cyclone Division.
38th Infantry Division Origins
The 38th Infantry Division earned its nickname during World War I when a tornado hit its training grounds at Camp Shelby, Mississippi. Known as the Cyclone Division, its shoulder sleeve insignia features a split shield design with royal blue on the left and red on the right, centred with a white CY monogram in high-density embroidery.

This original military surplus patch measures approximately 6cm by 7cm. It is built on a heavy cloth backing with vibrant threadwork and a thick merrowed black border. The overcast edge binding prevents fraying along the perimeter, making it sturdy enough to sew directly onto tunic sleeves, field jackets, or display boards.
