This genuine German Army kitbag D-ring lock is designed to secure top-loading duffel bags.
Bundeswehr Duffel Closure
Known in Germany as the Seesackverschluss, this heavy-duty steel fitting was issued to Bundeswehr troops to fasten military kitbags. It slides cleanly through the brass eyelets along the bag collar, drawing the top closed to prevent gear from falling out during transit.
Captive Pin Mechanism
The lock features a solid curved bow and a straight locking pin. A built-in steel link chain keeps the pin attached so it cannot get lost in the field, while a spring wire snap-clip holds the crossbar firmly shut during rough handling.
Padlock Anti-Theft Security
Beyond its quick-fastening clip, the end of the pin has a dedicated eyelet for a standard padlock. Once locked, it stops opportunistic theft in shared barracks or luggage bays, while the curved top section acts as a rigid carry handle for heavy loads.

This item was issued to the German Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and remains in Supergrade condition. It is unissued original surplus, but may have minor dust or storage marks from warehouse storage. We recommend giving it a wash or airing it out before wearing.
