Issued to the Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) under post-war rearmament, this M59 leather shovel carrier was designed to hold supplied US M1943 folding entrenching tools. It combines a German-influenced leather frame with heavy stitching to store folding shovels safely on field gear.
Heavy-Duty Leather Construction
Made from thick brown leather, this cover uses solid metal rivets at key tension points to handle rugged field use. A leather securing strap with a brass stud fastener locks the shovel head firmly in place, keeping the sharp metal blade enclosed and protected from weather.

This item was used by the Other Army during the Early Cold War (1947–1960) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
