Originally developed for the West German Bundeswehr, this Unteranzug, Kälteschutz served as the standard cold-weather undergarment for armoured vehicle crews. Engineered to insulate soldiers inside freezing steel tank hulls, its low-profile, one-piece quilted design packs maximum thermal efficiency without adding restrictive bulk. It is the perfect vintage base layer for winter.
Thermal Material Engineering
Built with a rugged polyamide outer shell and quilted polyester-blend insulation, this suit retains heat even in damp conditions. The high-closing knitted collar and elastic wrist cuffs form a reliable seal against drafts. This item was used by the German Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
