Cold War Service History
Issued to French soldiers starting in 1964, the M64 combat jacket replaced the earlier M47 uniform. Designed for field durability, this jacket features a heavy 300g cotton sateen weave, often called Satin 300. It provides dense wind resistance and breathability during cold weather operations without relying on synthetic coatings.
Functional Tactical Storage
The pocket layout is tailored for field utility. Two vertical zipped chest pockets offer quick access to maps and notebooks even when wearing load-bearing web gear. Two lower hip pockets feature concealed button flaps to keep bulkier items secure while preventing buttons from snagging on heavy brush or equipment.
Rugged Construction & Fit
Built for hard field use, this jacket incorporates reinforced elbow patches to resist abrasion during prone shooting or crawling. An internal waist drawstring lets you cinch the waist close to seal out wind, while button cuffs allow sleeves to be rolled up easily. Most Grade 1 surplus coats retain sharp original military markings.

This item was used by the French Army during the Late Cold War (1961–1991) and is in Grade 1 condition. It is in very good condition with plenty of life left. We recommend giving it a wash before wearing.
