Cold War Air Defence History
The US Aerospace Defence Command was established to guard North American airspace against aerial and missile threats. Originally formed in 1946 as Air Defence Command and redesignated in 1968, the unit operated radar networks and interceptor squadrons until 1980. This emblem reflects the Cold War era of US Air Force air defence operations.
Insignia Construction and Specs
This patch features a high-density embroidered design depicting a bald eagle holding a red lightning flash over a grid globe. Measuring 6cm by 8cm, it is built on durable backing cloth with a tight black border for edge protection. The reverse shows standard sew-on construction, allowing direct application onto flight jackets, field kit, or display boards.
